As hotel asset manager and investment advisor to General Motors, CHM provided services that led to the acquisition of this 260-room property and assisted in the selection of a new management company, negotiating the operating agreement and overseeing the transition of management and branding from Doubletree to Courtyard. This property is particularly unique as it represents one of only a few Courtyards operating in a downtown, urban setting, and is one of only a handful of Courtyard by Marriott conversions, a brand that generally requires new construction. The property underwent a $12 million renovation and re-opened as a Courtyard in April 2000. The Courtyard Detroit is located in downtown Detroit and is connected via skywalk to the 5.5 million square foot Renaissance Center and world headquarters of General Motors.

Today, CHM maintains offices on-site and provides ongoing asset management and hotel investment advisory services, working collaboratively with the operating team to enhance performance and optimize value of the Courtyard Detroit and adjacent Detroit Marriott
