CHM was retained in January 2009 by a privately-held real estate investment company to asset manage the historic Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. The property, otherwise known as the “Grande Dame of Washington, D.C., “ boasts more gold than any other building in the country except for the Library of Congress. This iconic 657-room hotel occupies a prime location within DC’s business district and a long-standing reputation dating back to 1925. CHM was engaged to undertake a strategic and operational assessment of the hotel, evaluating the property’s market positioning, branding and pricing strategy, as well as work collaboratively with the management team to develop strategies to preserve value in light of declining market conditions. Hotel facilities include approximately 39,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, three food and beverage operations and fitness center.
